For quite some time I have been having problems with lightwave 3.5
crashing and have finally discovered where it happens. Whenever I have a
sphere with transparency and raytraced reflections in full view, the program
fails on the second frame.
If I turn off reflections, it renders away fine. When this sphere
begins to come into camera view it's okay but when it no longer gets clipped
by the screen it dies. I've used other spheres with the same material
settings and have had my scene file rendered on someone elses machine with
the same results.
Can anyone tell what the heck I'm doing wrong? The scene takes up
about 2 megs with 14 megs free before rendering. I've deleted one of the two
objects that cause a raytraced reflection and it didn't do anything. This
sphere is about the size of a quarter on the screen.
I'm dead in the water.
